Art in the Streets

Maryland is home to phenomenal local artists and performers, world-class venues, and an engaged creative scene. Watch art come to life as artists hit the streets for Paint It! Ellicott City, July 8-10. See the work of more than 150 artists, designers, and craftspeople during Artscape, America's largest free arts festival, July 15-16 in Baltimore City – along with live concerts, performing arts, and more.

Pick up your rod and join the Maryland Fishing Challenge, a free, year-round tournament with three components: an angler award, an invasive species award, and a fishing challenge for youth. Follow your nose to find local brews this summer. The first annual DrinkMaryland: North Beach, July 23, will feature local wine, cider, beer and spirits with an open-air farmers' market feel. The aroma of Maryland’s fine craft beverages isn’t the only scent to sniff out – pair your drink with samples from favorite area restaurants during the Cecil County Food and Wine Festival, July 16 in North East.

Summer Symphony

Sweet sounds of summer are amplified during county fair season. Listen to a symphony of animals at 4-H fairs in Baltimore County, July 7-9, and Carroll County, July 30-Aug. 5. Hear the horsepower of hard-working machinery during tractor pull events at Harford County Farm Fair, July 28-31 in Bel Air. Local fairs and carnivals continue all summer throughout Maryland.
