AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center

The nation’s premiere documentary film festival comes to Silver Spring this week as the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center once again rolls out the red carpet for the best documentary films and filmmakers of the year. AFI Docs, which opens tonight and runs through Sunday, was founded in 2003 and has quickly grown to become not only a fan favorite, but one of the most important festivals in the industry. OTD Welcomes Strategic Partnerships Director Cynthia D. Miller to the Team

Cynthia D. Miller, Strategic Partnerships Director, Maryland Office of Tourism

Cynthia D. Miller has joined the OTD team as the new director of strategic partnerships. This new position was created to facilitate strategic partnerships between OTD and private sector partners, and is a natural fit for Miller, a strategic marketing and media production executive who has managed Walt Disney World’s international production studio, Disney’s MGM Studios in Orlando, FL, and most recently served as director of creative services for Marriott International Headquarters. “I am excited to create strategic partnerships that are win-win for our private sector partners and the State of Maryland,” says Miller. “I know what a great place Maryland is to work, live and play. Through strategic marketing, I want to help spread the word nationally and around the world.”
