It’s Time for the Annual Sock Burning and Other Only-in-Maryland Events

We know what you’re thinking, “It’s mid-March, the days are getting longer, the flowers are blooming, I could really go for some Chesapeake oysters and a good old-fashioned sock burning.” Well get thee to the state capital, friend, for the annual Annapolis Oyster Roast and Sock Burning, March 23, marking the beginning of boating season-- it’s the world’s premier sock burning event! But that’s not the only only-in-Maryland Spring celebration. The PEEPshow returns to the Carroll Arts Center April 12-23 where marshmallow Easter treats leave nothing to the imagination. Nature lovers, keep your eye on the sky as the osprey return to the Old Line State from their winter homes, and head to the remarkable “Wings of Fancy” live butterfly & caterpillar exhibit the Brookside Gardens beginning April 18. It’s truly an unforgettable experience.
