Maryland’s Summer of Music Kicks Off with DelFest and DeathFest

DelFest in Cumberland and Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore (both May 23-26) kick off Maryland’s second annual Summer of Music, with an unforgettable season of sound, running from Memorial Day weekend through Ocean City’s Sunfest (September 19-22). See all 24 amazing Maryland Summer of Music festivals at our website and be open for as much music as you can!

Plan Your Memorial Day at VisitMaryland.org

At the start of summer, take an opportunity to pause and honor our veterans who have given all in service to this great nation right here, in The Home of the Brave. Across Maryland, parades, ceremonies, the traditional Tea Party Festival, the Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K, and more offer great ways to spend the holiday while also paying tribute to their sacrifices. Find out more at our Memorial Day page here.

Don’t Miss Preakness Weekend

It’s Preakness time, as the fastest Thoroughbreds on the planet come to Baltimore for the 144th running of the great race. The fillies show their stuff during Black-Eyed Susan Day Friday (May 17), and the Preakness Stakes, the second jewel of the cherished Triple Crown, puts the eyes of the world on Baltimore on Saturday (May 18). This year’s InfieldFest is headlined by EDM star Kygo, rapper Logic, and international DJ Diplo, so there’s something for everyone at this Maryland tradition. For all the info, head to our Preakness page.

Check Out these Awesome Events Across All Ages

Celebrate Bike Month and the New Coast-to-Coast National Bike Trail

Everyone knows Maryland has a trail system second to none, and when better to explore it than National Bike Month? And this year, in addition to all of our great biking destinations and routes, such as the gorgeous GAP Trail, you can take the first leg of the new, national Coast-to-Coast Bike Trail, which features 4,000 miles of unbroken rail trail. You can get on it now and ride the Maryland section along the C&O Canal.

Maryland is Open for Seafood

We know what it’s like. That uneasy feeling when you realize how long it’s been since you last tasted steamed crabs. Well, come on out in Maryland, because the steamers are hot and the crabs are ready for cracking. Go to a great Maryland seafood festival or hit one of our legendary crab houses to satisfy that seafood craving. Find out all the lip smacking details at VisitMaryland.org.
