Fish on at June Tournaments

Whether you love the thrill of a saltwater hunt over the Atlantic Canyons off Ocean City, prefer the chess-like strategy of bass fishing on the Bay, the Zen communion of river and fly-caster, or the only-in-Maryland adventure of open Chesapeake rock fishing, Maryland is truly a fisherman’s paradise. And there's no better way to prove your angler skills than at these hot June tournaments all across Maryland.

Dynamite Doings for Dads

Father’s Day may be only 24 hours, but Maryland has packed in a whole month’s worth of fun for fathers. See the Blue Angels and the Royal Canadian Snowbirds roar over the Atlantic during the Ocean City Air Show. Climb aboard rare and historic aircraft at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum's Open Airplane Afternoon. Take the old man to the sea for the OC Car & Truck Show and the Antique & Classic Boat Festival in St. Michaels. Or let pop party like it’s 1794 at the Whiskey Rebellion Festival in Cumberland. For all this and more great Father’s Day fun, check out our Father’s Day page with lots of great dad doings!

Don’t Miss these Amazing June Food Festivals

Every month is a great month to be in Maryland, but June, right there where spring meets summer, truly has it all. Crabs are back at the St. Mary’s Crab Festival and other crab festivals across the state. Strawberries are ripe, and strawberry festivals are a sweet way to taste the season. National Harbor is hosting Beer, Bourbon & BBQ and Mount Airy is mixing up classic cars and a chili cook-off. Maryland goes head-to-head at the Tri-State Wing Off in Cumberland, and Baltimore, Hagerstown, Taneytown host wine festivals. Head to our food festivals page for all the great flavors of June in Maryland.

Plan Your 4th of July Now!

In Maryland, we’re pretty proud of our state flag, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to celebrate the red, white and blue! Whether it’s your annual trip to the beach, a day out on the bay, or a hike in the Alleghenies, there’s no better place to celebrate Independence Day than the home of the National Anthem. And with parades and fireworks from one end of the state to the other, you’ve got lots of options. Head to the Visit Maryland Independence Day page to find a celebration just right for you.
